American Green Homes is a RESNET accredited Rater Provider (ID#2009-112).

Think of the Provider organization as the head franchiser. Energy audit regulators like Energy Star™ and RESNET require all Ratings be completed under the supervision of a Provider. As a Provider, AGH's ensures Rater training, software licensing, quality assurance, and are responsible to resolve ethics and conflict of interest issues.

In Depth Training

Technical and practical skills.
The American Green Homes training course will equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to test and certify as an Energy Star™ and HERS Rating inspector.

40 hour course curriculum:

Building science principles and residential energy use.
Hands-on training using diagnostic tools (including the blower door and Duct Blaster™ equipment).
How to conduct a comprehensive diagnostic analysis of a home.
Instruction on certifying a home for the EPA Energy Star™ homes program.
Basic instruction using the REM/Rate™ software to evaluate the energy efficiency of a home.
Introduction to using infra-red thermography for evaluating energy efficiency.
